  1. It's such a great world. It makes me WANT to be a wizard. I want to live in a world where magic is real and fantastical creatures are out there. I want to wake up one day and be told that there's more than meets the eye and I can be part of that world. It's great escapism. And it's not pure fantasy - it's set closer to our world so that it's easier to imagine that maybe... maybe we're just not paying enough attention and we could be part of this too. :p
  2. The author doesn't pull punches. She killed Sirius early on. She killed Dumbledore. And she killed so many in the final battle. Maybe she should have gone further and killed Harry, Ron, or Hermione, but it seemed likely enough that it could happen.
  3.  Sirius. I loves him. :)
  4. Hermione and Ron are pretty sweet too.
  5.  Oh and maybe this doesn't count for much but I really really cared about the characters. When I got to the last book it was insanely tense. When Harry went  to face Voldemort for the last time I was so CERTAIN he was going to die that I started to cry so hard I had to put the book down and walk away for half an hour!
